Dear Mr. President:
It’s unsettling to realize there are sub-humans who take pleasure in bullfighting, dog or cock fighting, and other "sports" wherein animals are brutally ripped apart. It’s equally disturbing to hear about the suffering of animals who are raised for meat, eggs and milk - where chickens are forced to live in horrendous conditions or stomped to death by meat processing employees, and weak or crippled cows are brutally scooped up and/or dragged with chains attached to front-end loaders. And it’s downright horrifying that unbalanced teenagers sneaked into an animal shelter for the sheer joy of bludgeoning to death a huge number of cats...and to our knowledge, nothing much happened to the Marine who threw a puppy off a cliff in the Middle East....
Most animal abuse cases are shoved under the proverbial carpet because, after all, "boys will be boys." In reality, people who purposely hurt innocent animals whose only "crime" was being in the vicinity of these sadistic kooks, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! Every animal abuser should receive jail/prison time, depending on what they did. No exceptions! If the crime was mass murder, as in the case of the nut jobs who beat 16 cats to death with baseball bats, they should receive no less than a year in prison and/or be beaten with baseball bats themselves. The Marine who threw that little puppy off the cliff – well, perhaps he would have thought twice if were aware of an "eye-for-an-eye" law....
But there is no such thing, is there? Instead of prosecuting these abusers – many of whom go on to abuse human beings because we give them a mere “slap on the wrist” and let them go. After all, they only hurt a dumb animal....
What’s even more disgusting is that supposed professionals - educated people such as the illustrious "doctors" and "technicians" at animal research facilities – treat animals no better than those common, mindless hoodlums who perpetrated the crimes mentioned above! I am specifically referring to the animal abuse exposed at the University of Louisiana’s New Iberia Research Center where personnel were videotaped banging a young chimp in the teeth with a metal tool, and beating and infant chimp after it bit the handler when he tried to force some liquid down it's throat....What kind of person could be so mean to a tiny living being - a baby whose only crime was that it didn't want to be used as a lab animal? What kind of an example does that send to society at large?
Mr. President, it's way past time to DO something about these atrocities and to put an end to the "it's just a dumb animal" mindset!
Animals are beautiful, living, breathing beings that have the right to live their lives in the way God intended. Who is man to deprive them of that right (especially these depraved, sick idiots who are too dense to wonder how THEY would feel if they were suddenly removed from their homes and caged in some lab where painful experiments were being performed)? What’s the difference between the atrocities performed at these research labs and the treatment of Jews in Hitler’s concentration camps? Granted, there’s a difference between humans and animals, but does that mean they hurt any less when tortured? Does that mean they feel no pain? What if these were your children being used as guinea pigs? Don’t laugh – my dog is my "baby." If anybody ever hurt him intentionally, I would maim them for life!
If I were to write what I really feel about this issue, I would ask you to stop spending billions of dollars to bail out Americans who were too stupid to handle their corporation’s finances or stop spending money they don't have, and instead, use that money to create a task force whose sole purpose is to punish abusers of animals by tracking them down and, say, shoot off their knee caps and then make them pay for the bullet and the resulting medical bills. I realize, in reality, that cannot legally be done....But if it ever CAN, then I would be happy to head up that task force!
The truth is, we're to the point where animal abuse (along with other heinous crimes such as various types of child abuse, rape, etc.) has gotten completely out of hand in this country, and it's way past time to stop molly-coddling criminals and get TOUGH!
I am therefore requesting two things:
- The "crack-down" on animal abuse, starting with the implementation of a law to halt all animal experimentation/research until mankind can learn to treat animals with the respect and dignity they deserve. Perhaps the research "doctors" and "lab technicians" etc. will rethink their disgusting and brutal behavior if they suddenly found their livelihoods gone and their idol of money abolished. What makes us think we have the right to use animals for experimentation, anyway? WHO gave us that right? If we want to do research, perhaps we could use willing humans who can actually consent!
- That the laws against animal abuse be tightened to the point where people would fear certain prison time if caught abusing an animal. There should be NO exceptions and a jail/prison stay should be no less than one month (regardless as to what the "bleeding hearts" might say), depending on the severity of the abuse.
While I do have mixed feelings about animal testing and realize that not everyone abuses them, I truly believe a crackdown on those who do is warranted. Research animals have a RIGHT to humane treatment. It's the least we can do for those who cannot speak for themselves and who are being forced to suffer and die for us.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this urgent matter!
For the sub-humans who have no regard for animals:
God knows who you are and you WILL one day be held accountable for what you've done!

Much attention has been focused lately on the plight of show dogs who have been bred for the sole purpose of making money for their owners. Many of these animals, according to a BBC documentary about damaging breeding practices that cause disease and deformities, suffer greatly throughout their lives from breathing problems to genetic diseases caused by too much in-breeding. They have no real lives, as their every moment is spent being forced to get ready for the shows, and/or being used to create puppies so the owners can make tons of money.
It's an easy way to make a living! Not only do show dogs NOT have "real lives" where they can be "just dogs," but it seems just about all "pure-breds" suffer for the sake of money, as is evident in the myriad "puppy mills" where dogs are kept in filthy cages for the sole purpose of keeping the females pregnant, usually by owners who are too stupid or lazy to hold down REAL jobs.
According to the Humane Society of the United States: Life is particularly bad for "breeding stock," dogs who live their entire lives in cages and are continually bred for years, without human companionship and with little hope of ever becoming part of a family. These dogs receive little or no veterinary care and never see a bed, a treat or a toy. After their fertility wanes, breeding animals are commonly killed, abandoned or sold to another mill. The annual result of all this breeding is hundreds of thousands of puppies, many with behavior and/or health problems.
God created animals for His pleasure and ours – and He called it "good."
Genesis 1:20-21: "Let the waters team with living creatures, and let the birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1: 24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Our Creator never said we were to abuse His animals. Instead, He even commanded that they be treated with respect and dignity and allowed to rest on the Sabbath:
Exodus 20: 8 "Remember the day, Shabbat, to set it apart for God. 9 You have six days to labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God. On it, you are not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or female slave, not your livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property. 11 For in six days, ADONAI made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why ADONAI blessed the day, Shabbat, and separated it for himself.
And then YHWH created man....
Genesis 1: 26 "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the seas and the birds of the air, over the live-stock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Genesis 1: 28 "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
"Subduing" by the way, does not mean to obliterate or destroy God’s animals, but merely to "bring under our stewardship or authority." Nowhere does the Bible suggest animal abuse or the destruction of entire species, which we are guilty of doing (and we’re even attempting to annihilate ourselves!).
Much grief has befallen our companion species due to the interpretation of "ruling over" or "subduing" which certainly never meant we were to "dominate" or torture or abuse them. Man was given authority over animals – and, after the "fall" when Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden - was even allowed to eat the ones God considered "clean." Please note God’s original Plan was for man to be herbivorous:
Genesis 1: 29 "I will give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seeds in it. They will be yours for food."
Genesis 1: 30 "And to the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food."
In a perfect world there was to be no predation, no need to hunt or use violence to obtain food. Living beings did not fear each other because, according to the Divine Plan, there was no reason to kill and eat their fellow creatures.
In a perfect world, we would all be healthy, without the need for man-made drugs for the myriad diseases which we suffer today – the myriad diseases for which millions of animals have died in our laboratories. These animals had no way of protesting or giving us permission to use them as "lab rats"....
As their stewards, we are accountable to YHWH for the well being of animals. Being held accountable for them also carries the requisite that human beings act towards the other living members of Creation according to His strict rules of attitude and behavior including justice, mercy, kindness and compassion.
Bottom line: The world is the way it is because of MAN! It’s time for man to stop the abuse of innocent animals who have ended up being collateral damage for a species that was too dumb to obey YHWH in the first place and who, thousands of years later, are headed for complete destruction because we cannot even quit abusing each other and are constantly involved in senseless wars. The animals of the world are innocent bystanders, and we have no right to abuse them, use them for research, or take them with us into oblivion!
