Every once in awhile someone writes to The Refiner's Fire to sing the praises about the Israeli "rapper" Aviad Cohen - a former traditional Jew and former Messianic whose latest religion of choice is Christianity. (Let's hope he's found something he can actually stick with, for a change!) While we have nothing against Cohen as a person, we feel that many of his assertions are dangerous because much of what he espouses is not only "off the mark" but his theology appears to change from year to year. And, of course, he wants YOU to change with him....

One of his websites proclaims: Aviad Cohen is a Christian who is not affiliated with any sects of Judaism, including Messianic Judaism or any other forms of man-made religion which promote Judaizing (i.e. Two House Movement, Messianic Torah Observant Gentile Movement). Aviad forgives them and has made a new web page devoted to this serious topic....JUDAIZERS=Heretics and Enemies of The Good News of Yeshua Messiah....

Continuing elsewhere Cohen says: Please forgive me for ever judaizing you or mis-leading you into getting into The Messianic Movement. I didn't really know what it was until I read the book of Galatians and God revealed to me what Judaizing is. It's heresy. Why more Christians did not call me out on Judaizing and being involved with the Judaizers is sad. They should have told me to read the book of Galatians. More Christians need to stand up for the Good News and start calling this heresy out. It's severely gotten out of hand and it's spreading like a disease. Repent and "come out of her My people!"

It's obvious Cohen has no clue what the Book of Galatians truly says, nor what the term "Judaizing" means, or else he would never speak against YHWH's Torah! (Suggest he purchase a copy of the Aramaic English New Testament [AENT] by Andrew Gabriel Roth, to find out!) Below is a sampling of some of the most recent nonsense this "rapper" has been espousing. Here he strongly suggests that keeping Passover in whatever form is of Satan....

There is a serious possibility that demons of Talmudism, Kabbalah Jewish mysticism and other forms of Satanism will manifest and flip out tonight when you address them with the Truth. This might actually cause a flat out war because you are confronting the spirit of Ha'Satan right there on the spot.

Faith does come by hearing the Word of God as it says so in the book of Romans. Proclaim to God what you stand with...His Word. Let the demons know what you stand with as well. They will not be happy.

Put on the complete Armor of God before you do this and pray to the Father in Yeshua's name. I know...this might really upset your Messianic Rabbi and elders who are under "his rabbinic authority." Yeshua came to free us from the bondage of the law. Does it not say so in the Bible?

Is God and His Word a liar? This is very serious. That is why the book of Galatians is highly controversial and even sometimes taboo in Messianic Judaism, Two House, Torah Observant Messianic groups, etc. Yeshua came to free us from the bondage of the law.

The High Priest wore a nezer (crown) on top of their mitre or turban; "And you shall put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy nezer (crown) upon the mitre."    Cohen just keeps on proving he has NO CLUE as to what he's talking about when it comes to the Bible! Here is Matthew 23:8 with footnotes from the AENT, which was translated directly from Aramaic into English:
   
   Mat. 23: 8. But you should not be called "My Great One"¹ for there is only one Who is Great and you are all brothers. 9. And do not call yourself Father² for your Father is one who is in heaven. 10. And you should not be called leaders, because one is your leader, the Mashiyach. 11. But he who is greatest among you, let him be a servant³ to you. 12. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

   [1] Aramaic here does not mean "Rabbi" as in "teacher" per se, as in Matthew 28 Y'shua commands his disciples to teach the world. Instead, Y'shua is addressing the more literal meaning of "rab" which is "great" as shown in Genesis 6:5, "the wickedness of man was great on the earth." The previous eight verses teach against elitist behavior, so "do not be called My Great One, for you have One that is Great, YHWH." This is directed to the Rabbis (leaders) themselves, not to the followers. Certainly this does not win popularity among the Rabbis. See Rabbinical Authority and Torah in Appendix.
   
   [2] This prohibition against calling leaders "father" is to avoid giving high status to men which is due unto YHWH.    And what's wrong with honoring God by putting a mezuzah on our doorposts? It doesn't contain paganism or anything anti-God, and nowhere do the Scriptures tell us we CAN'T. Plus, YHWH commanded us to do the following: "And you shall write [the words that I command you today] on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." -Deuteronomy 6:9, 11:19)

    WHAT???? Aviad Cohen is anti-Messianic because he's pro "Jews for Jesus" - an a Christian entity in Jewish clothing. Quoting from the AENT:
    
    There are numerous examples of Hellenized Jewish groups who feel the importance of retaining a "Jewish" identity within various religious labels and Jews for Jesus is just one of many examples. Even the name, "Jews for Jesus" is often received in an offensive manner by Jews because of what Christians have done against the Jewish people "in the name of Jesus." Ultimately YHWH is our Savior; what it comes down to within Jewish-Christian debate, is a difference of opinion on how YHWH saves His people.
    
    As Netzarim we proclaim that the promises in Tanakh have been and will be fulfilled by Y'shua of Nazareth, but to imply that the rest of Jewry is against Y'shua (the true Mashiyach) is very problematic, even when taking into account centuries of acrimonious history. No Jew would deny that righteous Israelite men and women have been raised up by YHWH to give us the benefit of their wisdom, character and examples for better living. To the extent then that it can be proven that Y'shua observed Torah and kept the sacred days - and this extent is tremendous - no Jew could respectfully be "against" every single thing he said and did. However, Jews for Jesus teach that Jews must convert to Christianity to be "saved." The Jews for Jesus organization spurns Torah lifestyles and they live in such a manner as to be fully accepted in Christian Sunday churches.
    
    As most other Christo-Pagan based institutions, the Jews for Jesus organization touts the Christian doctrines as the way to "salvation." They view Netzarim Jews as "Legalists" and "Judaizers" and do not subscribe to being conformed to Mashiyach through Torah observance. As in other post-Constantinian Christian traditions, salvation is offered through the Jews for Jesus organization to those who say a "sinners' prayer" and the candidate for "salvation" must agree that their "doctrine of salvation" is truth in order to get "saved." In effect, Jews for Jesus are simply token Jews who endorse Marcionite and Constantine Christianity, but who prefer to retain a veneer of "Jewish" identity. These kind of tactics, which are surely not confined to just JFJ, are part and parcel of what some Netzarim refer to as "Greeks in Jewish clothing."

I long for the day when GOD TV is kicked out of Israel for good. Any congregation in Israel who's members work for that channel of satanic apostacy and has not addressed their members who are working for a channel that has promoted false shepherds and revivals of Satan....well it's because they want their tithes. Recently some very nice people I know invited me to a very Orthodox Messianic Judaism Congregation in Israel last week. I do love these people immensely. I really do, but I am opposed to the Judaism they have subjected themselves to and invited me to. I really did not want to go and they knew that it was not for me because they know I came out of that deception, but I went to honor and respect them because of a family event they wanted me to be there for. I refused to wear a kippah and talit.

Those who invited me did not bother me about that but I got looks from an older lady and an older man who gave me looks of death because I was the only one there with no kippah and talit. I didn't tell this to the people who invited me, since I did not want to upset their "simcha." I kept my Bible open all the time, reading from it, praying, even though I was given a siddur of liturgy. which I opened but did not really read from. I did not take part in any liturgy, but only joined them in reciting something from the book of Psalms. The leader gave a sermon at the end and when he actually just started preaching about Yeshua at the end, I was THRILLED! It was the only few minutes of LIFE in the bondage I was subjected to for an hour or two. I see potential but they need to break out of dead-religious bondage.

God's Word convicts me of many things too. Like you, I am a work in progress and I am cleaning out the "chametz" from my life each day so I can have a closer relationship with Yeshua.

Another note...none of you can prove to me that you are from the tribe of Ephraim. Most of the Jews in this world have no clue what tribe they are from unless they are Kohan's like me.

I've seen it on the East coast and all the way to the West coast. I've seen you guys "change" when you do that. It becomes more about you embracing Judaism than Yeshua. I should have continued being discipled by them. They are the ones who Yeshua used to reach out and witness to me, while Messianic Judaism is a hidden sect of Judaism that does not evangelize and I praise Yeshua that they don't. No wonder Messianic Judaism hates them. Besides Jews For Jesus evangelizes while Messianic Judaism compromises. Messianic Judaism makes it clear what they stand for...Judaism...just like their arch enemy, the counter-missionary group "Jews For Judaism."

Two House...they can't even afford to buy 1 house of worship. Torah Observant Gentiles have willingly chosen to subject themselves to the bondage of Torah while still claiming to follow Yeshua.
