The answer to the above is very simple: FIRE THEM! Kick them off the team and never allow them to return! Let them know that there will be zero tolerance for un-gentlemanly behavior.

Why? Because they are hailed as heroes; people to be emulated. Millions of children look up to them.

Let's get realistic here. Ballplayers are, after all, just engaging in a sport - a GAME! And for playing a game they get the big bucks - the kind of money most hard-working people with real jobs never see. They also get "big heads" and become full of themselves. They are not only loved and revered, but with their millions they can afford the best of everything - houses, cars, women....

More and more, we see these "heroes" acting like five-year-olds on the playing court, getting into fights and arguments on national television, in front of millions. Is that "heroic"? NO! It's childish and silly. And it's exactly what God said would happen to people without knowledge of Him and Torah: They exhibit "carnal" behavior because it is human nature (Genesis 13-20, Ecclesiastes 11:5, 1 Corinthians 2:14).

Unfortunately, the behavior of our "heroes" keeps getting more and more out of hand. God is patient, but He will not condone disobedience forever. The Bible warns us of this in many passages, including in Genesis 3:21 when He banished Adam and Eve from the Garden for their disobedience: and later in Matthew 24 which reminds us of how God cleansed the earth of all decadence via a flood:

Matthew 24: 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

What happened in the "days of Noah" is exactly what is happening today: The world is teeming with lewdness, decadence, scoffing, and general rebellion - and like before, God will only put up with so much, as the books of Daniel and Revelation warn:

Revelation 21: 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Today's world is overflowing with "bad" because most people are exercising their right NOT to "believe" in Yahweh/Yeshua, and they therefore don't realize that Yeshua warned us that there would one day be many false "christs" and "prophets" and religious teachers, who, under Satan's control, would come to deceive as many people as possible. ("False teachers" include those carnal "heroes" who show our young that fighting, silliness, lewdness and decadent behavior are "okay" and something to be emulated.) See also Signs of the End Times.

This world could be a much better place if we simply stopped allowing decadence to be the norm! We, at The Refiner's Fire suggest that ballplayers, politicians, teachers, doctors, lawyers - ANYONE who exhibits unacceptable or ungodly behavior - simply be fired without the possibility of resuming their chosen careers. That would surely make people think twice before giving in to their "carnal natures"....
