The Refiner's Fire recently conducted an unofficial experiment to see how people would react to a Biblical response to those supposed God-given "prophecies" that are sent out by people calling themselves "prophets" and then forwarded by millions who are blindly willing to accept them as Truth. What we did was to send a reply to all those addressees who forwarded an apocalyptic "prophecy" by Pastor David Wilkerson, explaining that it was more important to get ourselves right spiritually than to rush around collecting "a month's rations" to prepare for upcoming catastrophies. But were people ready to let go of those ridiculous, man-made "prophecies"? Please read the below....

Pastor Wilkerson's message, taken from the email that was passed around:

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE-EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires-such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting-including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

"If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup..” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment-just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. Lay in store a thirty-day supply of food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven-his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run…no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take-trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

Below is the email sent in response to all the addressees who were listed in the "forwards". These included several pastors that we at The Refiner's Fire have known either personally for many years, or through our email exchanges.

Subject: RE: An URGENT MESSAGE from David Wilkerson...

After seeing D. Wilkerson's "URGENT MESSAGE" cross my inbox several times over the last few days, forwarded by good Christians such as yourselves, I am saddened that you are all so ready and willing to believe the "prophecies" that fall from the lips of various Christian pastors, etc. Why? Because most of the time they are false and they say nothing we don't already know! It's no secret that the entire world is under judgment. I knew the day the Terminator allowed "gay" marriages to take place in California, that that beautiful state was destined for destruction. Since that day we have seen much of California burn down while suffering another huge drought that has resulted in water rationing - not to mention, the entire state is bankrupt. There's nothing new about the impending destruction that is coming to the Earth because of our disobedience. (Please see my article about Christian "prophets".)

But what does that mean, exactly? Well, let's examine a couple things D. Wilkerson said: WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE? While that is great advice, amazingly, neither Wilkerson nor any other Christian will bother to ask: "Is that REALLY what we are to do, and what, exactly, does it mean that David ‘fixed his eyes on the Lord’?"

The answer is: YHWH (Yahweh) above all else demands our obedience - because unless we are obeying THE CREATOR who gave us His Torah (Divine instructions, many of which contain "forever" commands), whom are we really worshipping? David, along with everybody else since the Garden of Eden, obeyed Yahweh. They kept HIS Seventh Day Sabbath and the Biblical Feasts and ate only kosher foods. He did what YHWH commanded....

But with the advent of Catholicism and Christianity, those "forever" commands somehow went away. Instead of keeping God's Seventh Day Sabbath and Biblical Feasts, Christians decided to change the Sabbath to Sunday because they erroneously believe "Jesus rose on a Sunday" (which he did not - see Correcting the Sunday Myth) and then decided to ignore the Biblical Feasts in order to come up with their own "holy days" - none of which is Scripturally correct.

Of course, most Christians will fight you to the death about "we're no longer under the law; we're under grace" - while never realizing that grace has ALWAYS been around; it isn't something that "just came about" after the death of Yeshua! Grace is why YHWH killed an innocent animal and allowed Adam and Eve to leave the Garden instead of wiping them off the face of the Earth. Grace is why He spared Noah and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and allowed man to continue on for thousands of years; grace is why He sent His Son to make it easy on us to obtain eternal life. But guess what: Grace didn't negate God's Torah; it NEVER negated the need for OBEDIENCE!

Somehow Christians are unable to see that God, in Numbers 15:13-16, reiterated FOUR TIMES that everyone who chooses to worship Him is to do exactly as His Chosen, who were Torah observant:

Numbers 15: 13 "'Everyone who is native-born must do these things in this way when he brings an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD. 14 For the generations to come, whenever an alien or anyone else living among you presents an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD, he must do exactly as you do. 15 The community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD: 16 The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the alien living among you.'"

Please read and re-read the above until you recognize that Torah is NOT just for "the Jews."

And please think about this: God didn't make His NEW COVENANT with the Gentiles; He made it with the Houses of Israel and Judah (Jer. 31:32) who were Torah observant; and secondly, there were no Jews until after Jacob begat the Tribe of Judah – and yet EVERYONE was Torah observant! He never said there would be different rules for the "natural" and the grafted-in" children.

It’s a shame most people simply cannot "get" that today! That’s because "ear tickling" and "I don't have to do all that OT stuff since I’m under grace" have become the main mantras, above everything else. It doesn’t matter what YHWH commanded or what His Son taught while He walked this Earth....

Which brings us back to David Wilkerson and his "prophecies" - and I would urge you all to think about this: While David Wilkerson definitely has "a heart for God," why would YHWH give him these "fluffy" prophecies, and why give them to someone who is among the millions who has never bothered to ask, "Where in the Scriptures can one find that we were to change God's Seventh Day Sabbath to Sunday after the death of Jesus? And where does it say we are allowed to come up with our own holy days while ignoring the commanded Biblical Feasts which ALL foreshadow Him and are chock full of prophecy?" Amazingly, the Christian "God" never tells his people to prophesy, "My Name is YHWH and My Son's Name is Yeshua who showed you how to obey Me! Sin is lawlessness, my friends! Law is My Torah, and you are to obey it! If you turn to MY Torah, all will go well with you." No, instead it's always "fluff" that falls from their lips and warnings to collect 30 days' worth of supplies so you can continue to live and pretend "Gawd" is with you....

Sorry this message was so blunt, but YHWH causes us to "tell like it is." We've been witnessing the above message about YHWH/Yeshua/Torah for years, yet most people continue to ignore it - and that's because it's not as interesting as "New York is going to burn shortly!" The time is SHORT, and yet we keep offering "strange fire" (Lev. 10:1) before YHWH and using His Name in vain. The sons of Aaron were KILLED for being guilty of just adding incense to the fire! How much more are WE guilty of by never mentioning the Name of YHWH, and daring to ignore His mo'edim (appointed times/holy days)?

Our hearts are grieved over what we have done to our Creator! Matthew 7:13 tells us most people intend to go their own way, because it's easier to follow ear-tickling doctrine than to OBEY the commands of our Maker....I guarantee you that all the Christians who readily forwarded his "URGENT MESSAGE" to everyone in their lists will barely bother to read my words, much less forward this email. That's because "ear tickling" messages are easier to digest than the actual Truth of the Scriptures. So many of you "have a heart for God" - but not a big enough heart to find out who He really is so you can actually DO His Will for a change....

Surprisingly, of the dozen or so people who received our RESPONSE, not one of them bothered to write back to discuss it. Not one of them wrote to ask what Torah is or even attempted to challenge what we said! They either immediately wrote back to request removal of their names from our "unsolicited and unwanted email" list, or they simply ignored us! This was a one-time deal where we replied to all those who had forwarded that ridiculous "prophetic" email from David Wilkerson which kept showing up in our email inbox that week. Ironically, these same people who requested "immediate removal" of their names from our "list" ALL forwarded, unsolicited and including their own comments, David Wilkerson's email which came to them unsolicted....and we are willing to bet they never once wrote him to request removal from his list....

This was merely a small experiment to see how people would react when confronted with something other than "fluff" - and, just as we figured, ALL reacted exactly as expected!

While we realize that, had the list of people been larger, chances are good that at least ONE person might have replied to our response and maybe been curious to discover more about Torah. The sad fact remains, however, that MOST people (judging from our seven years of experience with hate mails to The Refiner's Fire) choose to remain closed-minded when it comes to God. Most are content to remain in their lukewarm religiosity, even when presented with BIBLICAL TRUTH!

God forbid they might actually "get" that YHWH repeated FOUR TIMES in Numbers 15:13-16 that ALL who worship Him are to be Torah observant, and that He made His New Covenant NOT with the pagan Gentiles, but with the Houses of Israel and Judah (Jer 31:32) who were TORAH OBSERVANT; and that OBEDIENCE to, and "getting right" with Him are far more important than telling people to collect emergency rations for the upcoming times we will encounter....

Matthew 7:13-14 applies here in spades! Yeshua warned:

Matthew 7: 13. Enter by the straight door, for wide is the door and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many are they, those that go in it. 14. How narrow the door and straight the road that leads to life, and few are they, those that find it. 15. Beware of false prophets that come among you in the clothing of lambs, but from within are ravenous wolves.
