Dear Refiner's Fire...

I know his name in Hebrew is Yeshua but we speak English and the Y translates into a J as far as I know, so what's the big deal about using the names of Jehovah and Jesus?

Our Response....

Well, for one thing, Yeshua isn't that hard to say, and that was His name after all (it means, “Yahweh is Salvation”), so why should “the world” have changed our Jewish Savior's Name to a pagan name that means absolutely nothing? The world has detracted from His real Name by changing it. Please see Yeshua vs. Jesus.

Secondly, there is no such word as “Jehovah”. MAN made that word up. If you dissect “Jehovah” in Hebrew (the language of our Jewish Savior) it translates to “God of mischief or confusion”. There's no “J” in Hebrew, but the "Je" would actually be "Yah" which is short for Yahweh; and “hovah” = mischief, confusion. Do you wish to worship the god of mischief and/or confusion?

Your name is Pierson. Is it okay if I start a trend to call you Johnson? It would severely mess up your credit, your car and house loans - not to mention, confuse your mailman - but surely you see what I'm getting at....Also, is it okay if I start a trend to change your birthday to another day and month besides your actual birthday? What would be the point? Wouldn't that be lying, which is a sin? But that's exactly what Christians have done to Yeshua!

What makes it okay to changes names and dates and then insist you're worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? The Bible tells us Yeshua was born on the first day of Sukkot (Tabernacles), which always falls in the Sept/Oct timeframe. So what makes us think we should dare celebrate His birthday on some other day? Where in the Bible does it tell us to celebrate His birthday, in the first place? Yahweh wanted us to concentrate on His resurrection, not His birthday.

Which leads me to another thing: Christians have not only changed dates and names (and what does the Bible say about the Antichrist – he changes dates and times, etc.) but even pushed pagan “holy days” down His throat via Christmas and Easter. Yahweh used to put people to death for offering Him "strange fire" as in the case of Aaron's sons....

Christians have totally ignored all the Biblical Feasts (which all foreshadow Yeshua and are full of prophecy) and they even dared to change God's “forever” command about the seventh day Sabbath. Who gave us the authority to change anything that God said?

So, what's the “big deal”? Well, nothing if you want to ignore the Word of God and give in to Satan and go with whatever man made up. If you want to celebrate and worship THE Creator of the universe, however, you need to do some serious Bible study and start learning about how to properly obey Him.
