Dear Refiner's Fire...

Shalom,

I read some of the things on your website and it is great. I am a Gentile Christian and I believe in the Jewish Messiah, Jesus or Yeshua. Jesus Himself said to the Samaritan woman, "Salvation is of the Jews" and in saying that, He said that the forgiveness of sins is of through the line of the Jewish people and I believe that the Jewish people were set aside by God for that purpose to be a witness not only to themselves but to the world. I know there is a God because the Jewish people continue to exist in such hostile circumstances of this world.

Christians should make an effort to learn the Jewish faith in order to understand exactly who Christ is - who God is. The Bible is all Hebraic; Jesus never started a new religion. I never understood what the death of Christ meant until I started to study the Bible with the Hebrew viewpoint in mind, and it was then that I fell in love with Jewish people, culture and history. Many Christians have that "replacement" theology thinking, erroneously believing they replaced the Jews somehow; they don't realize that the Jewish people are the Olive Tree and we, the Gentiles are the wild olive tree, grafted in according to Romans 11. As a Christian, I know God will forever and always love the Jewish people; they are a special people consecrated by God.

Unfortunately, many have not opened up the Old Testament which is chock full of great teachings. It is God's blueprint for His plan for man. God's plan was to save the Jews first, then the Gentiles. As a Christian, I am in total agreement with you that all control of Jerusalem should be turned back to the Jews, which it will be eventually, anyway. This does not mean I agree with the Israeli government and how it has treated other Jews, but I'm sure you understand what I am trying to say.

I believe many mainstream Christians have created their own religion "in the name of the Lord", because they've forgotten that the Jewish faith was born of God! Both Catholics and Christians borrowed the God of the Jews but have, unfortunately, twisted His original teachings and that's why there are so many different denominations.

False teachings abound and I believe one of the main reasons why Christians are led away from Biblical Truth is because they don't read the Bible for themselves, relying instead on other people (such as pastors) to teach it to them. Big mistake! People need to start seeking God, praying and reading the Scriptures for what they actually say - in both Testaments!

Just keep teaching the Truth. Any Christian who gives you opposition is not on your side and is, in the process, against Christ because you are His brethren. Anyone who supports anti-Semitism will have to answer to God one day. I encourage you to keep teaching Gentiles their Hebraic roots. It might go across the grain from what they've been taught, but they have to know!

In the end, God won't be looking at us as a group but, rather, we will be judged individually.

God Bless You!

Our Response....

Rebecca, thank you so much for those kind words. You are one of the few who actually "gets" what we're trying to teach!

The following statement you made is very profound. You said: "I know there is a God because the Jewish people continue to exist in such hostile circumstances of this world."

Most people - especially the anti-Semites - seem to forget that it was part of God's plan to scatter the Jews into the nations. If they hadn't been scattered, then Yahweh and His Son would have remained a well-kept secret in tiny little Israel! NO ONE would have ever heard of the true Creator or His plan of Salvation via Yeshua! The anti-Semites also don't seem to realize that Jesus was a Torah-observant Jew, as were all of His disciples. Neither He nor His disciples ever did anything that might be considered contrary to the Torah ("the law" - God's original teaching/instruction).

We've had countless e-mails from anti-Semites who write to "remind" us that the Jews killed Jesus....We always tell them that, while this may be true, they need to check the Bible to see who actually nailed Him to the cross and flogged Him within an inch of His life before He ever got the cross - because it wasn't the Jews! We ask them to re-read the Gospels to discover that the reason He was nailed to the cross was because God chose to offer HIMSELF up as the FINAL SIN SACRIFICE for the whole world - for all of us: Jew, Gentile, male, female, slave and free! The bottom line: our SIN nailed Him to the cross - and if Yeshua hadn't submitted to this torturous death, then ALL of us would be headed for hell...So, why the silly blame game?

Thankfully, most Christians aren't anti-Semitic; they are simply anti-Torah. This is because the teachings of Paul have been very much misinterpreted. We therefore refer them to our articles about Torah and the Book of Romans which shed some light on these subjects. We know from experience that most people still won't "get it", and so all we can do is to pray for them.
