Challenging the false teachings of Laurie Beth Jones

We recently sent an e-mail to Laurie Beth Jones, a woman whose "personal mission is to recognize, promote, and inspire divine connection in myself and others". Our e-mail was ignored, just as we figured it would be. The thing is, Ms. Jones' mission wouldn't present a problem, if only she would keep from misrepresenting God and His Word in her "divine" teachings....

The following blurb can be found on the home page of Ms. Jones' website:

My personal mission is to recognize, promote, and inspire divine connection in myself and others. I live my mission by writing, speaking and creating opportunities for you to get clear about who you are, what you were created to do, and how to live your highest good. My organizational vision is to promote positive societal change by transforming a critical mass of thought leaders in the Seven Pillars of Society. Using such programs as The Path, The Path4Teens, and The Path4Kids integrated with the Path Elements Profile (a unique personality assessment centering around the fundamental elements of Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire) our consulting and training teams work with individuals and businesses to ignite teams and increase productivity.

".... the fundamental elements of Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire"? Those are clashing images from someone who has written books such as "Jesus CEO: Using Ancient Wisdom for Visionary Leadership", "Jesus in Blue Jeans: A Practical Guide to Everyday Spirituality", "Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best", "Jesus, Entrepreneur: Using Ancient Wisdom to Launch and Live Your Dreams", and "Jesus, Life Coach Journal: Training Your Life", to mention a few. One cannot be "centering" on Jesus and the Bible if one is centering on the "fundamental elements of Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire"....

Here are some quotes from various websites about Ms. Jones:

If Jesus can call himself "Living Water", she reasons, why not identify ourselves according to the elements too? (This is the same woman who developed I AM statements we're supposed to say, so we too can say, I AM. This, folks, is known as blasphemy.) (From Slice of Laodicea)

Laurie Beth Jones' "Affirmations for Leaders": I proudly say I AM; I shape my own destiny. What I believe, I become. What I believe, I can do. "My personal mission and vision is to Recognize, Promote and Inspire Divine Connection in Myself and Others." (From Lighthouse Trails Research Project)

In talking about Jesus: "Jesus regularly visualized the success of his efforts ... 'I always do what pleases God.' ... Was this conceit? Or was it enlightened creativity and self-knowledge? ...Jesus was full of self-knowledge and self-love. His 'I am' statements were what he became."—Laurie Beth Jones, Jesus CEO, p. 7,8. (From Lighthouse Trails Research Project)

Influential people such as Jones are often to blame for leading both existing believers and would-be believers in Christ astray with their half-truths and pseudo philosophies. Due to their misinterpretations of the Bible, "Christian" authors, motivational speakers, "televangelists", pastors of "mega-churches", etc. make believers in Christ look like a bunch of wild-eyed, hypocritical, money-grubbing weirdos who make their living by using the Lord's Name in vain. Is it any wonder so many Christians are confused?

It is truly appalling that someone would have the chutzpah to make her living by espousing a mixture of Jesus Christ and New Age spirituality/hoodoo-voodo. What Bible is she teaching from, because it sure isn't the one that God breathed! It appears she is trying to make her living by deceiving those who don't know their Bibles very well. Someone should make her aware of the fact that we are in the "twelfth hour" of the Bible-prophecied end times scenario and that she is playing a dangerous game by taunting the Almighty Himself.

It truly appears that Laurie Beth Jones is one of the end times false prophets the Bible warns us about:

Romans 16: 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Ephesians 4: 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Proverbs 14: 14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Matthew 24: 4 Yeshua replied: "Watch out! Don't let anyone fool you! 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Messiah!' and they will lead many astray. 6 You will hear the noise of wars nearby and the news of wars far off; see to it that you don't become frightened. Such things must happen, but the end is yet to come. 7 For peoples will fight each other, nations will fight each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various parts of the world; 8 all this is but the beginning of the 'birth-pains'. 9 At that time you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and put to death, and all peoples will hate you because of me. 10 At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other, 11 many false prophets will appear and fool many people; 12 and many people's love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah. 13 But whoever holds out till the end will be delivered. 14 And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim. It is then that the end will come.

Someone should also make Ms. Jones aware that what she is doing IS being observed from on high:

Hebrews 4: 13 Before God, nothing created is hidden, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account. 14 Therefore, since we have a great cohen gadol who has passed through to the highest heaven, Yeshua, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we acknowledge as true.

Galatians 6: 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
