Your Challenging New Testament Christianity page states: The following articles are designed to demonstrate that Christians and Hebraic Faith believers worship the same God: Jesus Christ....
I know you are trying to be as diplomatic as possible, but in my opinion Messianic believers worship Yeshua - while mainstream "Christians" actually worship Tammuz, although they think they're following "Jesus" - just like Ancient Israel worshiped Tammuz while claiming to follow Adonai. Mainstream "Christianity" resembles Tammuz and Ishtar worship much more than it does the worship of Adonai because Christians are certainly guilty of "offering strange fire" (Numbers 3:4) due to their lack of obedience to Torah and their deliberate celebration of paganized holidays.
Tammuz worship includes celebrating Easter, Christmas, 40 days of weeping before Easter (ie: Lent), and carrying/worshiping a cross (as well as keeping Sunday holy and eating pork - a favorite of Tammuz). Tammuz worship was 1,500+ years before Yeshua's time on earth.
(Note Tammuz, 1,500 years before Yeshua, carried a cross. The cross was a pagan/roman symbol - yet mainstreamers [ie: Romans/Catholics] claimed it after Yeshua's death and resurrection for themselves. The bible warns of worshiping symbols. Moses had a brass serpent upon which Israel had to look for their salvation (from the snake bites) yet, when they worshiped the brass serpent later, it was destroyed because they were worshiping it as pagans worship their man-made idols instead of seeing it as a source of their salvation without worshiping the symbol.)
I do not believe mainstream "Christianity" is following God at all - and, what's more, I believe it is following a false messiah. Remember what Yeshua said in Matthew chapter 7: Many will call on Him that day and say, "Lord, Lord" and He will say "go away I never knew you" (paraphrased). Most claim to be walking on the narrow road yet they are not obeying God as Yeshua said to (in that same passage). Yeshua had nothing good to say about most of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation chapters 1-3.
Remember Ancient Israel - even in their time of rebellion, they thought they were following God while incorporating their pagan worship in the temple. Jeremiah 10 talks about "Christ-mass trees" in Ancient Israel and Ezekiel 8 is about sunrise (Easter) services IN THE TEMPLE! The Ancient Israelis thought they were worshiping God, but God called it an abomination.
Yeshua said His flock is SMALL (ie: NARRROW road) and most are not following Him even though they claim to be.
The problem is that most of the "church" was paganized by the Romans (ie: Catholics) in AD 300. When the "Reformation" happened, they only changed a few things they disagreed with while leaving MOST of the Babylonian paganism intact. Changing a few pagan ideas while leaving 99 percent of them intact did not make "Protestantism" any less pagan than the Catholics and their 100 percent paganism. What should have happened was a RESTORATION back to the ORIGINAL faith of the early church - not a reformation from a few pagan ideas while leaving most of them intact.
No, I do not believe mainstream "Christianity" is Christian; it is mostly pagan while claiming to follow Adonai - just like Ancient Israel was pagan while claiming to follow Adonai. Back then, God called it an ABOMINATION - so what is it today? It is still an abomination.
It took me a long time to realize this - most who claim to follow God are NOT FOLLOWING HIM. This was the case in Ancient Israel and it is the very same today - NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
It would be great if we were worshiping the same God as the mainstreamers, but, after weighing the facts, I do not believe we are.
Shalom, Nancy
