Challenging Dr. Makow:
The following article was originally sent to InJesus who, until recently, sponsored a now defunct group called "End Watchers". This very Neo-Nazi sounding group had posted several of Dr. Makow's articles, including the one above on the Protocols. The Refiner's Fire contacted InJesus to complain, and to openly challenge Dr. Makow on his schizophrenic assertions:

I have never read "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion", but from what the "esteemed" Dr. Makow has revealed about it in the above article, it definitely sounds as if it IS anti-Semitic "hate literature" and a fraud. In this particular article, he makes several uninformed allegations including the following:
"Israel's Star of David (interlaced triangles) is the Masonic symbol of the double divinity, Adonai and Lucifer."
Is that so? Why are you taking for gospel the rantings of some obviously anti-Semitic hypocrite who scraped together information designed to support his narrow viewpoint? Here is the REAL story behind the Star of David:
Originally, the Hebrew name "Magen David" ("Shield of David") poetically referred to God - acknowledging that the military hero, King David, did not win by his own might, but by the support of Almighty God. This is also alluded to in the third blessing after the Haftorah reading in Jewish synagogues on Shabbat: "Blessed are you God, Shield of David."
The six points of the Star of David symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions (north, east, south, west, up, and down). Jewish people, through their long and often difficult history, have come to realize that their only hope is to place their trust in God.
The Star of David holds heavy spiritual connotations for Jews. It is thought that a six-pointed star receives its form and substance from its solid center. Its inner core represents the spiritual dimension surrounded by the six universal directions. (This applies also to Shabbat, wherein the seventh day gives balance and perspective to the six week days.) One theory holds that during the first century Bar Kochba rebellion, a new technology was developed for shields using the inherent stability of the triangle. Behind the shield were two interlocking triangles, forming a hexagonal pattern of support points.
With Jewish emancipation following the French Revolution, Jews desired a symbol comparable to the Christian cross. They settled upon the six-pointed star, principally because of its heraldic associations. Ironically, the religious Jews of Europe and the Orient, already accustomed to seeing hexagrams on kabbalistic amulets, accepted this secularized emblem of the "enlightened Jews" as a legitimate Jewish symbol, even though it had no religious content or scriptural basis.
Later, the Star of David was also a symbol of the Holocaust, during which the Nazis forced Jews to wear an identifying yellow six-pointed star, composed of two overlapping triangles. After the war, Jews turned this symbol of humiliation and death into a badge of honor. (Jews were also forced to wear special badges during the Middle Ages, both by Muslim and Christian authorities, and even in Israel under the Ottoman Empire.)
When Theodor Herzl looked for a symbol for the new Zionist movement, he chose the Star of David because it was so well known and also because it had no religious associations. In time, it appeared in the center of the flag of the new Jewish state of Israel and has become associated with national redemption. ...And as Hitler once said: "What luck for the rulers that men do not think." If Dr. Makow truly believes this nonsense in his heart of hearts, then he has obviously fallen for Satan's deceptions! He makes it sound as if man, thousands of years ago, had the forethought to plan to intermarry thousands of years later in order to be able fool the masses and lull them into a false sense of security in 2004! As a Ph.D who supposedly knows his history, Dr. Makow surely realizes that, until the last 80 to 100 years, man was too busy eking out a living just to put food on the table; he had little time for much else. "Corruption" is something that is, unfortunately, our inherited nature which began with the original sin in the Garden of Eden. It is inside ALL of us, not just certain weirdos who supposedly planned to pass down certain sick ideas through their generations. Neither Dr. Makow nor any of the authors he so readily believes can PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt that their conspiracy theory is 100% correct.
"The Protocols is full of Talmudic contempt for non-Jews. 'How clear is the undeveloped power of thought of the purely brute brains of the goyim...What could have been simpler than to take the money they wanted from their own people? "...We "will put an end to those abuses to which we owe our mastery over the goyim, but which cannot be allowed in our Kingdom." (178)
"The purely brute mind of the goyim is incapable of analysis and observation and still more of foreseeing whither a certain matter of settling a question may trend...Their eyes are open but see nothing before them..." (160)
"Everything in this world is in a state of submission, if not to man, then to ... what is stronger. And so shall we be this something stronger for the sake of good." (163)
Okie-dokie. It is hard to determine the real source, from the little information that Dr. Makow has seen fit to provide. It would have been easier, had he provided us with chapter and verse from the Talmud. I have searched the entire Babylonian Talmud and come up with NO RESULTS for anything matching ANY of the words that Dr. Makow has posted as true statements. When dealing with the Talmud, one has to realize also that, back in the "Old Testament" days, it was the rabbis who interpreted the Torah (first five books of Moses). They discussed the mysteries of God and life and addressed the "do's" and "don'ts" of acceptable societal behavior, along with the resulting consequences of various crimes, and sexual perversions. As a result, the Talmud contains topics which might be considered controversial at first glance, especially to those who are reading only the translated versions and don't know Hebrew. One has to remember that the Talmud was written by MAN, which makes it an imperfect document to begin with; it was originally an ORAL commentary to the Torah (first five books of Moses); and, it was written by only a FEW rabbis (and interpreted by carnal thought) - not the entire Jewish nation.
The Talmud and associated literature developed an entire genre of parables and allegorical sayings that, when understood, shed light on the mysteries of life for the Jews. However, when inadequately translated and ripped from their context they seem silly. The Talmud is a difficult book, and many commentators have worked to explain and illuminate it. Unless Dr. Makow knows Hebrew and has read all 28 volumes of the Talmud, his "learned opinion" and those of the authors he quotes, really means nothing.

And people such as Dr. Makow are knocking themselves out to push their "learned" views on an unsuspecting world - which he apparently hopes will swallow everything he says because of the impressive credentials that he intentionally added to this article (such as his education, author status, and the fact that he is the inventory of the game Scruples. Well, having a Ph.D and being an inventor does not automatically mean one has the common sense to ferret out the truth, especially when it pertains to Biblical things. I suggest he educate himself by reading everything in (1) the Bible, and (2) on the Challenging Antisemitism page on The Refiner's Fire, which will show him another viewpoint besides his own. Presently, he seems to be totally focused on believing the lies of other deceived men who, like himself, ARE indulging in "irrational prejudice".

No, our culture is NOT a hoax, Dr. Makow. It is EXACTLY what a God-less mankind has made it. It is EXACTLY what the Bible prophesied to be in the Books of Daniel and Revelation. THAT is also not a debating contest, and if you were truly interested in "the historical record", then you should study the BIBLE instead of the words regurgitated from the minds of carnal, prejudiced, anti-Semitic schizophrenics.

Dr. Makow, you ARE wrong! You have shown nothing in this article except YOUR rendition of "truth" as espoused by other "carnal" people such as yourself who have twisted facts to suit YOUR purpose. Rothschild, Lenin, and Hitler are dead. Satan is the temporary god of this world, and he has influenced myriad people to his side including those poor, unsuspecting, twisted souls mentioned above. However, even he knows how THE BOOK ends; and he only has the amount of power that GOD allows him to have, nothing more, nothing less. If you'll remember, that pathetic, twisted entity even tried to bribe Yeshua (Matthew 4)! (Thank God it didn't work!) GOD triumphs over man-made evil in the end. He has ALLOWED us to "do our own thing". Humanity will only be enslaved for a little while longer before our Savior Yeshua returns and zaps Satan and deliberate sin into hell forever. End of story.
