Dear Refiner's Fire...

Hello,

I have noticed on a lot of Christian forums I visit, that people keep saying all the other races, like Caucasian, African Black, Asian, etc., were created on the sixth day, and that Adam was created on the eighth day. From reading the scriptures with an open mind and reading them word-to-word instead of just "skimming" over the scriptures and making assumptions, I have come to the conclusion that these "other" races were not created before Adam.

In Genesis Chapter 2, it says nowhere that God created Adam on the eighth day, and that the other races were created on the sixth day. Unless I am reading this incorrectly, I see no Biblical truth behind it and also, Eve is called the mother of all living, not just one "specific" race of people, and since God nor the Bible never lies, then Eve must be the mother of all living things - as it says.

Also, because God destroyed the people and creatures during the flood except Noah and his family and the pairs of clean and unclean animals, there could have been no possibility that these other races were created and not linked, in some way, to these people.

In Genesis 9:1 it says: 1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Genesis 9:19 says: These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

If anyone would take a look at those passages (and note I do not want to be one guilty of not reading around scriptures and twisting them to match my own beliefs), I think it is quite clear that every race, no matter what their skin color or language or region, came from Adam and Eve, and then thus Noah and his sons. Because, again, God destroyed all of the ungodly people upon the earth, who were eating and drinking, partying, and marrying, and didn't listen to Noah when he tried to warn them against the Flood. Because of this, they were swept away, and didn't realize what Noah was trying to tell them until the Flood came.

Since Noah and his family were the only ones alive, other than the animals and bugs and whatever else on the Ark, then everything that we see - including the beasts of the earth and air - most likely came from them.

I may or may not be wrong. I thought it was interesting though. :)

Sincerely,

Yasmine Lawrence

Our Response....

Shalom Yasmine!

Well, as far as The Refiner's Fire is concerned, you are absolutely right and would hope that everyone who comes to this page will re-read what you've said above! What you've said is the only thing that even makes any sense. Adam and Eve's pure DNA included all races and colors, and it makes sense that their children were all races and colors - which was passed right down through Noah and his family who repopulated the Earth with all races and colors....

The more the Earth's population grew and the more that people married and intermarried, the more "watered down" the DNA became - which ultimately resulted in birth defects, etc. Consequently, YHWH gave us the commands in Leviticus 18-20 concerning whom we could and could not mate with....

People tend to overlook the fact that Genesis 1 is a chronological order of the Creation, while Genesis 2 is not; Genesis 2 merely discusses what happened in Genesis 1.
