Dear Refiner's Fire...

Dear Refiner's Fire: I received an email this morning from Simon Altaf (I have - like several others - tried to unsubscribe from his newsletters on a few occasions but he didn't take the hint). Can anybody put a stop to this ungodly man? He not only teaches off the mark stuff, but he attacks people who dare challenge him in incomprehensible ways.

Among his latest attacks are the many serious allegations he's making against Walid Shoebat and Joel Richardson and others. This has been widely publicized in the UK by Altaf and he seems to be doing the same in the US as well, as it seems he enjoys putting people down in the most vicious ways. A lot of the allegations were originally made last August by Simon so I don't know why he has decided to rehash them now. Simon also claims that he was the first one to come up with the theory of the End times Islamic Beast. For a start this is untrue as Walid was already speaking about it long before Simon appeared and also does it really matter who discovered something first as long as the truth is being put out there?

One thing I don't understand is that up until last summer Simon never once said anything against Walid and even had links to him on his web site. This all changed when Walid spoke out against polygamy and what Simon was doing to his wife, Aaliyah, by attempting to take "another wife" into their home. Aaliyah left him, but now Simon hints that she is back with him again and now fully accepts polygamy. If this is the case then it is very sad.

I know you all take on false teachings and teachers, so is there anything you can do about this situation? Somebody needs to shut this "rabbi" up, for he is making all rabbis and pastors around the world look like kooks!

Thanks for writing to us concerning this grave issue, but honestly, only God Himself can put a stop to those who are doing their level best to destroy His Name. I've tried to reason with Simon in the past, but he's never let go of his Muslim mentality, and instead of discussing issues like a rational adult whose utmost desire in life is to please God and to be holy, he prefers to "toot his own horn" and attack and "sling mud" and totally annihilate those who attempt to challenge him. There's no talking to him because he's simply not listening. It doesn't matter how much Biblical proof you place before Simon, he ignores it. You can read all about this type of personality by just Googling words like "Satan," "demons" and "demonic possession"....:

The thing with Simon Altaf just seems to gets sillier and sillier and the bottom line is, no matter that he refers to himself as "Rabbi" (a term he tends to use ad nauseum to exalt himself), he is still very much Muslim; he has simply figured out new ways to terrorize people. If you have ever read any of his articles - especially the ones in which he bashes his latest "enemies" (and there is always SOMEONE he hates at any given time), you'll see that he has put himself on an equal plane with YHWH and Yeshua. He's constantly hammering home the fact that God is on his side and will do you harm if you dare to disagree with Simon. As a matter of fact, a lady who - like yourself - requested to be released from his newsletters and false teachings told me that he emailed her to say he hoped the earth would swallow her up! Does that sound like a representative of YHWH to you?

The Scriptures clearly warn us against behavior like this. Among them are the following:

Matthew 7:6 - Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

2 Tim 2:14 - Keep reminding people of this, and charge them solemnly before the Lord not to engage in word-battles. They accomplish nothing useful and are a catastrophe for the hearers!

2 Tim 2:15 Do all you can to present yourself to God as someone worthy of his approval, as a worker with no need to be ashamed, because he deals straightforwardly with the Word of the Truth.

2 Tim 2:16 But keep away from godless babbling, for those who engage in it will only become more ungodly, 17 and their teaching will eat away at people like gangrene.....

Titus 1: 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16: They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Simon's megalomianic behavior truly shows through in his 30-some page rant against Walid. All we can do is to ask ourselves: Would normal people display this kind of rage? Simon is not just out to challenge; he is out to destroy ANYONE he perceives as an enemy!

I think all we can really do at this point is to pray for God's protection over Walid Shoebat and anyone else Simon has on his hit-list, and keep asking God to put a stop to Simon and all those whom he has fooled into agreeing with his nonsense. NOTHING that man does reflects the Kingdom of God!

By refusing to remove your name from his email list, Simon is attempting to force his teachings on you - and therefore he is placing himself above Yeshua, who simply relayed His message and left it up to people as to whether or not they wanted to follow Him. This clearly reveals how highly he thinks of himself! If Simon refuses to remove you from his newsletter emails, I would suggest you block his email or IP address or domain. If you'd prefer not to do that, then just delete his future emails and ignore them. After all, he can lead a horse to water, but he can't force it to drink!
